Our clinical history
Registered Nurse Sheila Baxter began training in laser therapy for mental health and addiction treatment in 1998.
Following a formal technology review and professional recognition by the Registered Nurses Association of British Columbia (now the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives), she established the Nanaimo, B.C. clinic in 1999.
Drawing on decades of experience as a Registered Nurse and accredited Laser Therapist, Sheila Baxter developed the LCH Technique®. This unique outpatient treatment model is designed to address addiction, support mental health, and assist with nervous system regulation.
The program integrates structured clinical protocols with practical strategies to support long-term behavioural change.
Since 1999, the clinic has operated with a focus on professional standards, strict confidentiality, and a clearly defined scope of care.
